Prajna Zendo's Projects The Big Mind Process was developed by Zen Master Dennis Genpo Merzel after thirty years of Zen practice and teaching. Big Mind bridges Western psychotherapy and Zen practice. It is a simple yet powerful method promoting two things: first, a radical acceptance of the self as it is and things as they are; and second, an opening to Buddha Nature, the ground of being that pervades everywhere. Big Mind is an investigation of the self as impermanent and constructed; an exploration of how to live fully and creatively, without relying on authority or dogma. It examines and actualizes the oneness of all being, pointing the way toward a life of service, celebration and no-fear. The workshops are conducted by Sydney Musai Walter, Sensei. Musai Roshi has been practicing Zen for 34 years, and received dharma transmission in 1999. He has been in private practice as a psychotherapist for 25 years. Off the Path, On the Way Wilderness HikesMusai Roshi leads this day hike four to six times a year. The day consists of off-trail hiking with opportunity for solitude and quiet meditation. Locations for the hike vary seasonally. [See Recent Events for descriptions and photographs]
