Occasionally during the year, Musai Roshi leads hikes which he calls "Off the Path, On the Way."'

"Off The Path, On The Way" is a wilderness teaching, guided by Musai Roshi. We hike for several hours off trail, a way of becoming intimate with the land and with ourselves. We hike in silence, then each of us spends an hour in solitude. When we gather together again, we hold Council. Until we meet for Council, we observe silence.
